POP-UP BOOK - THE HERMIT CRAB IN LOVE - COVER
Pop-up book, or book-game, in which the images emerge from the pages, creating striking three-dimensional effects and in which individual parts can move or be moved by the child. The boards of the book and the individual characters are drawn and colored, free-hand, on cardstock, with a "mixed media" that cleverly combines watercolor, colored pencils, gouache and ink. Once finished the work on paper, the prototype was cut and assembled by hand, piece by piece. This work is conceived and created for children 2 to 5 years of age. The book is hermit crab shaped, being the hero, Arturo, in fact, a little hermit crab who falls in love with a mermaid named Ombretta. The culmination of their love will be put to the test by the monster of the deep, and facilitated by the spell of a magician, to reach, after many vicissitudes, the long-awaited happy ending of "happily ever after." In the book there are no lyrics; only in the back of the cover was created a pocket, where a folding decorated strip is placed, telling, in rhyme, the story of the adventures of Arthur and Ombretta depicted in the book.
